Michael D. LoPrete

From representing survivors of domestic abuse pro bono to settling the division of multimillion-dollar marital estates, this Indiana family attorney has experience that runs the gamut. Michael uses his experience to guide his clients through the difficult and stressful processes of divorce, legal separation, child custody disputes, and more.

Michael brings a problem-solving, child-focused philosophy to his cases, and his creative thinking often spots solutions more traditional approaches can miss. He believes that most cases can find resolution outside the courtroom and works hard with his clients to identify when litigation can be avoided. However, Michael is equally comfortable with litigation, advocating his client’s position in court when settlement can’t be achieved.

After receiving his bachelor’s degree in religion from Wabash College, Michael pursued and obtained his Juris Doctor (JD) from Indiana University Maurer School of Law. Passionate about helping people of all means access legal services, he has worked in both private practice and for a nonprofit organization that provides low-cost legal services to those in need.
